WiFi Won’t Connect to New Devices? Here’s How to Fix It Fast!
1 Systems Installation Weekly News Letter

Welcome Back to One Systems Installation’s Newsletter!
Today, we’re bringing you another quick and effective tech fix!
Your WiFi Stopped Working for New Devices – Why?
Your network may have run out of space for new device connections. In technical terms, this means the network exhausted its available IP address leases or ports, preventing new devices from connecting.
What Caused It?
Too Many Devices Connected – The network had a limited number of available IP addresses, and they were all taken.
Old Devices Holding Spots – Some devices that weren’t even in use still had reserved IP addresses.
Limited Network Configuration – The system wasn’t set up to allow more connections.
How Can It be Fixed? (The Easy Way!)
You simply freed up space on the network, and once more connection slots became available, everything started working again.
How to Fix It Like a Pro:
Increase DHCP Pool Size – Ask the network admin to expand the available IP address range in the DHCP settings.
Release Unused IPs – Restart the DHCP service to clear stale or abandoned leases. You can also manually release IPs using:
ipconfig /release (Windows)
dhclient -r (Linux/macOS)Shorten Lease Time – If devices connect temporarily, reducing the lease time ensures faster IP recycling.
Add More Switch Ports – If the issue is hardware-related, upgrading to a switch with higher capacity can help.
Check Firewall & MAC Restrictions – If a firewall is limiting device connections, adjust the settings to allow more devices.
How to Prevent This in the Future?
Increase the number of allowed connections on your network.
Ensure the network releases unused spots faster so new devices can connect.
Check for any restrictions blocking new devices.
Think of it like a parking lot that ran out of spaces—you just needed to free up or add more parking spots!
