A Summer Reminder No Parent Should Ever Miss

This Week at 1 Systems Installation

Hi there,

We usually send you updates about tech and smart systems, but today this message is about something that really matters.

A few days ago, we came across a heartbreaking story: a baby died after being accidentally left in a parked car during summer. The family had a busy morning, a slight change in routine, and like so many other parents, they didn’t realize what had happened until it was too late.

It broke our hearts and reminded us that this could happen to anyone.

Why it’s so dangerous and so easy to forget
In summer, the temperature inside a parked car can rise 20 degrees in just 10 minutes, even if the windows are slightly open. For a baby or toddler, that’s enough to cause heatstroke. Children’s bodies heat up three to five times faster than an adult’s.

And it doesn’t always happen because of neglect. It’s usually a combination of routine, stress, and distraction  something all parents are familiar with.

What can we do about it:
It’s about creating layers of reminders and tech backups. Here are some simple ways to protect your little ones:

Simple habit tricks

  • Put your bag, phone, or even a shoe in the backseat when the baby is in the car

  • Always open the back door after parking, even if you think the seat is empty

Smart tools that could save a life
We found a few helpful items that are easy to find on Amazon:

  • Car seat alarm systems: they alert your phone or car when you walk away while the baby is still in the seat

  • Back seat reminder sensors: some plug into your car and give you a reminder every time you turn off the ignition

  • Mirror monitors for the back seat: so you can always keep an eye on your baby from the front

These are not sponsored, just tools we genuinely believe could help.

A message from all of us at 1 Systems Installation
We usually help protect homes and businesses with smart tech, but nothing matters more than protecting your children. If one message, one reminder, or one alert can save a life, we believe it’s worth sharing.

Stay safe this summer. Share this with someone you care about. Let’s look out for each other.

Warmly,
The 1 Systems Installation Team
